Car accessory

There are lots of accessories for cars and trucks now including waxes and polishes, headlight cover restorers, floor mats etc.  In waxes we have the old standards like Turtle wax, Simonize, McGuires, Mothers etc.  one of the newer products is ceramic.  The ads say they will give you a good shine and protection for 6 months to a year. The costs run from similar to regular waxes to $150.00.  There are beginners products that are easy to apply for around $20.00 and mid level products for around $50.00.  One thing I have read is some have a very strong smell that may be a problem if used inside like a garage and the article recommended using a mask . Some use a chemical called graphene which is supposed to make it better but maybe a little more difficult to use.  The ads are interesting and show water runs off in a sheet and the surface is so slick anything you sit on it slides right off.  Apparently you can use it on dull headlight covers and faded trim also. I personally haven’t tried it yet but I plan to.  I have used McGuires and like their products. They offer a service where you send them the color of your vehicle and they make a recommendation based on it.  I have used most of the popular companies products and haven’t had any problems with them.  I usually detail my truck in the spring and then again before winter to keep it clean and polished.  Weather Tech makes one of the most popular fitted floor mat sets for cars and trucks I have them and like them.  There are videos on u tube by car retailers that will show you how to use different products and tricks they use to get best outcome.  There are also carpet shampoos, upholstery cleaners, leather cleaners and preservatives, Scotchguard for protecting your cloth seats.  You cand have your car under sealed also which is good for living on the coast.  Most newer cars and trucks have backup cameras but if you have a older model you can still get one built into your new radio screen or rear view mirror.  You can also get one for the front of your vehicle which help spot those short posts used in some parking lots.  You can also add bed cover for your truck to protect your luggage, groceries etc.  cushioned bed mats to keep noise down and help protect truck bed and carried items.  My neighbor just had his car detailed and it cost $400.00. So if you like to do your own you can save some money.
